| | | Re: Please help me identifie this fungus. This is surely a Tricholoma, maybe from the sub-section Terreineae. T.terreum can be ruled out as the gill attachment is adnexed whist the photo here shows sinuate gills, but without knowing if there was a particular smell or if it was growing with Pine trees (or deciduous) I don't think this can be taken further.
I am assuming by the way that the first photo (in the hand) are more like the true colours of this fungus ?

Neil: I found the mushrooms under a Hawthorn hedge and they are not very strong smelling really, quite like the normal buttons from the shops. Yes the pic with my hand is a better colour, they are a brown/grey with a white stipe and no ring.
