Here is another group of fingi that I have been watching for the last month.
There are numerous examples of these scattered across the field.
Location: Wensleydale. Very short turf over a limestone pavement.
They have never got above the level of the very short grass.
I am thinking that this is likely to be Cavulinopsis corniculata (Meadow Coral); can anyone confirm this, please?

First image taken about a month ago. The attendant rabbit dropping indicates the size!!

2nd taken last week

This 3rd picture was taken a couple of days ago and shows that the "horns" have sprouted red tips which I presume are where the spores are about to be shed. This characteristic does not seem to be mentioned in any of my ref books. Am I thinking along the right lines here?
Any help much appreciated.
