| | | Clitocybe geotropa/nebularis I found this in a group of Clitocybes growing road-side at the edge of deciduous woodland. This is one of the smaller ones, 10cm diameter, some were twice the size. A few perfect funnel shapes.
I believe it is C. geotropa, but I am not quite sure the distinctive feature(s) cf. nebularis?
As you can see it has a very distinct umbo
The gills alternate between decurent and shorter (but variable length) gills, white. Mushroom odour (!). Stem fibrillose, tapering, cream. Cap, beige. |

| | | Re: Clitocybe geotropa/nebularis I think you're spot on with C. geotropa. It's not got the right jizz for C. nebularis |

A very nice funnel as you can see.
Half-fairy ring:
Second half-fairy ring

Also in the vicinity:
Unidenitified Amanita
Family of A. muscaria:
A. citrina? , shouldn't have taken it with flash, it's greener than this:
Puffball sp.:
No idea what this is, but doubtless very common:

| | | Re: Clitocybe geotropa/nebularis Just tore the specimen in my OP in half and found four little white maggots in the top of the stem/cap base.
Yuck! |
