| | | Re: Bright orange Discomycete This has been bugging me as much as for John, so I have been trawling through various sources and I have found this one, and I think it may be the one. The spores are just the right size. Melastiza contorta Spores 23 - 26.5 x 12 - 15 The paraphyses and the hairs are spot on as well.
1. Apothecia deeply cup-shaped, orange, 1-2.5 cm broad; outside with 300-550
firn long, pale brownish hairs. Sp 23-26.5 Ģ 12-15 firn, with 6-7 /xm high,
irregular, blunt warts (Fig. 118). Autumn. B&K 92, Jordstjārnan 16(3)
cover.
