For someone who is able to register, upload photos, start a thread, copy the photos into that thread, and post within the forum, it would appear that you are not the internet novice that you would have us believe.

Why not just accept the fact that you failed to read the rules -which are there to be seen if you have any desire to see them, and let things lie.

The moderators on this site find themselves between the devil and the deep blue sea. - They tread a fine line in trying to keep the forum on the right side of legality, whilst at the same time giving the benefit of the doubt. - but when someone walks straight in with "can I eat these" - there is no doubt, and the posters have only themselves to blame when their posts get deleted.

If your only interest in fungi is finding edible ones, then this forum is not for you, and it would be best just to go elsewhere and stop blaming everyone else for the fact that you didn't read the rules.

However, If you have any desire at all to learn about fungi in general, then stick around. Despite the inauspicious start, you will be made most welcome and will learn a great deal.

Oh by the way - Welcome to WAB. (A genuine gesture of our normal response to newcomers to the fungi forum. ).

You implied this site is for fungi ids but you should know you can only give a suggestion and not a positive ID from a photo..
I suggest you find a fungi group in your area and learn as much as you can I have been interested in fungi for a few years now and would never eat anything unless there was an expert with me and handled it first.
For every edible fungi there is a poisonous double..

As this is directed at me personally, I will make the effort to respond - although I don't see why I need to defend my totally straightforward and completely non-sarcastic post!

Just for information, we are not all "young geniuses (or genii - now that's sarcasm!) out there who live on forums and the internet" - WAB members span a wide age range from school to er...."mature"! Becoming au fait with t'interweb is something some of us have undertaken with considerable initial reluctance but have then discovered a whole new world we could never have dreamt of in our youth. Many of us (including myself, not that that fact has any relevance to my posting here or elsewhere) are the wrong side of half a century.
