| | | A couple more fungi in lawn for ID if poss I've been trying to avoid repeating any of yesterday's, although the way they change over time makes it quite challenging for the newcomer doesn't it.
This is in a lot of places - tiny yellow fingers up to 3mm across by 10mm tall:
Then these very pale fleshy ones, which seem to end up turning the cap inside out (as shown) (with small slug):
And these, with a cap I think you'd say is parasol, darkening and flattening when older:
Meanwhile I'm trying to collect spores onto glass (google explained?!) from a couple of yesterday's and will hope to study them with a magnifying glass tomorrow. Exciting times. Thanks for any help. |

top one is a Clavulinopsis - probably C. helvola, but you need to check the spores (with more than a magnifying glass I fear )
middle one is surely Hygrocybe virginea
bottom one, is, yes Lepiotoid - but I'm not taking it any further than that . . .
best
Chris

A pity about the magnifying glass. Should have guessed! Maybe I can blow-up a photo? I shall give it a go.

Whatever you do, don't invite more than one to a dinner party, and if you have to, seat them at opposite ends of the table!

But am fast realising my naivity! Managed to come up with these for my Laccaria laccata/Laccaria proxima ...
...hmmm. And this for the Hygrocybe
...hmmmmmmmmm. But praps if I'd gone to Specsavers? |

just a thought; for the third one - try Cystoderma carcharias . . . .

| | | Re: A couple more fungi in lawn for ID if poss Hi Chris! Well I thought I went and got a cap from the tiny yellow one from the first posting- ie
On the glass the spores doesn't look as dark as that makes them seem - just a pale grey.
I just went to take another picture, including the cap, but the cap's become revolting and has things crawling out of it (eeeks!) - so it has now gone back to the 'lawn'!
Re the third above, I'm pretty sure none of those have a ring, so proabably not? (I know it looks a bit like they do in the upended shot, but that's just the base showing.)
Thanks for all the help and interest - Rhona |

Thanks for all the help and interest - Rhona | I think your dark spore print may have come from these of yours, not the orange waxcap ...
Melanie

| | | Re: A couple more fungi in lawn for ID if poss Hi Melanie! I think you said that just to make me have to get out that horrible creepy crawly shot and lighten the exposure. Ugh! But no, I promise it's not the inkcap...
And thanks about the lawn! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
