Now that I have seen the photo in Collins, I think I'm ready (git orf me!) to concede that this may be Panellus stipicus after all.

the only specimens i have seen that have any kind of green colouring are the ones with algae on them

Elsewhere on that site, I thought I read it is only bioluminescent in certain parts of the US, but not on the Pacific coast - wonder why that should be ?

So perhaps it doesn't luminesce in Britain ?
