| | Unidentified tubes in houseplant soil Hi,
I grow several species of chili peppers on my window ledge in my kitchen, due to the humidity of my kitchen with my dryer this is ideal for them.
However this morning suddenly there are two half inch long tubes in the soil of my bell pepper pot (a terracota pot) that literally were not there 10pm last night. They are just under the diameter of a 5p coin, have a very pale yellow/peach colour. They have like a frilled top (not Gilled as far as I can see)
I don't know what they are, can anyone help? I don't want this going to my other pepper plants and I don't know if I should just throw out the whole pot they are in, please help me it was just a bag of commercial soil for tomatoes from dobbies. |

Perhaps you could download a photo, they you may get a more definitive answer.

I think it's a reasonable request for a first time poster, albeit without an image. |

I think it's a reasonable request for a first time poster, albeit without an image. | point taken - my (not entirely serious) comment was not of course aimed at the 'first time poster' . . . a suggestion that the presence of the fungus might not pose a major problem rather than talk of bleach and fungicide might have been useful, that's all
cheers
Chris

sorry I am now extremely guilty of going off-topic - off-piste even

It's a little like Artemole being passionate about birds and somebody posts a question on the bird forum saying they have a bird of prey, the likes they had never seen before, scaring all their garden birds away, what should they do ?
Then I jump in and say "Spray it with 'birdicide', net it, and take it to the local rubbish dump.
Is this fair comment ?

| | | Re: Unidentified tubes in houseplant soil I attempted to take a phone pic but it's really terrible so tomorrow I'll do a camera pic and show it, the suggested yellow mushrooms look nothing like mine. Mine are reminiscent of pitcher plants without a lid. I have seperated my bell pepper pot for the time being as I too would like to know what this is if only from an eating and preventative point of view (though yellow fungi seems like one that's not for eating)
If the chili curiosity is strong that window has Bolivian rainbow, aji crystal, brazillian starfish, short yellow tobasco, large brown habenaro, Fresno supreme and the humble bell peppers will get back with that pic tomorrow | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
