A bracket on a twig.
I found this small dead twig today with a bracket fungi growing on it. I have no idea what it is. I think the twig may be Birch but I'm not sure.

Thanks again Chris. I will self flagellate (with a birch twig) until I've learn't the difference between fungi and fungus!
