My post probably wasn't clear enough

... it was a work in progress, I was typing it as I was going through the Funga Nordica key, and trying to find online images to show typical features as they were mentioned ...
Ignore the
P. rugosa details - it got ruled out due to spore size, but its cheilocystidia shapes
are similar to
P. vexans and I wasn't expecting to find online drawings that showed those of
P.vexans so thought I'd have to make do with
P rugosa ...
The ring on the stem together with the spore size narrows it down to just two species though:
Pholiotina vexans - with cheilocystidia like either of those Bioimages drawings -
Pholiotina teneroides - with rather differently shaped cheilocystidia, much broader at the tip, mainly club shaped as shown in my photo.
It sounds as if the cheilocystidia were like the former.
