Are these fungi what I think they are?!

I found these next to our children's swing, coming out of the wood chippings.

To me they look suspiciously like the Deathcap.

Any thoughts anyone?

I cleaned the table obsessively realising they might be the Deathcap!

Hmm... I'm left wondering if you have actually seen a picture of the real Death Cap - for there is no resemblance whatsoever.

These are a harmless Pluteus species.

Another Q though: does anyone know if this species contains Psilocybin? From wiki: Pluteus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, says some do.

The reason I ask, is that I handled them a lot, looking them over, and that night, reality was really melting all around me. Since then, I've read that Psilocybin can be absorbed through the skin. Which possibly would mean that I've experienced the effects of LSD for the first time (and last probably) without even intending to.

Presumably the actual type of Pluteus can't be identified from the photo?

The appearance of these mushrooms in the old orchard really got me interested, and it's not my wish to talk about LSD really, I'm merely relaying what happened.

It seems to me that there must be so many variants of a particular genus, that ultimately it must be (nearly) impossible to classify them all, or indeed know everything about them.

Intentional or not, sounds to me like you must have experienced a massive dose (of something) but you sound fine now But that is all irrelevant as you have broken the law BIG TIME.
