| | todays tinies help! Just a small stroll today, these were on rotting vegetation under the bramble and deciduous cover, very damp with Willows.
Grateful for any help.
1st a strange eylash effect/hairs on cup edge, on woody substrate, surely thats easy?
his was at the other end of the twig, similar, but no hairs on edge, possibly knocked off?
3rd, tiny mycena on grass, slight yellowing of cap, M luteoalba?
Last, this slime mould, its lost me, posibly a physarum, dictyosporum, but doesnt look right - have put it on myxo of the day too!
Thanks a lot
Ken

| | | Re: todays tinies help! Hi Ken,
No.1 - Possibly Cyathicula coronata? (syn. Crocicreas coronatum).
No.2 - I'm not much good on Mycena's, so I'll leave that for Mal.
No.3 Myxo - Probably too immature ( certainly for me ) to determine
Regards,
Mike.

| | | Re: todays tinies help! I have spent hours today trying to sort out the taxonomy of M luteoalba and that was before this post came up.
This from the Checklist Described from Britain, but a nomen dubium lacking a type specimen. Sensu auct. is M. flavoalba.
But when you go to Index Fungorum
you have the same again followed by
Mycena luteoalba (Bolton) Gray, Nat. Arr. Brit. Pl. (London) 1: 620 (1821).
So I think there were two descriptions of luteoalba one of which is now obsolete and one by (Bolton) Gray which is accepted.
I would probably call this M flavoalba myself (at the moment) but watch this space.
Mal
Ps lovely picture of Crocicreas coronatum

| | | Re: todays tinies help! Thanks a lot you two!
I suspect youre right Mike, its a bit early yet - I might just revisit tomorrow and check progress.
C. Coronatum is a first for me, didnt even know of it................ Brill. I'll post it to Gallery.
Mycena luteoalba, I checked in a little guide that Richard Illiffe produced on some common Mycena, he refers to it as better known as M flavoalba too.
Cheers
Ken
