A Birch Bolete?
Can anybody help me identify a bolete I found under birches at the weekend. It looked like an orange birch bolete, but the cap was paler than usual. White stem with black scales, pale buff pores. It didn't stain when I cut it. No discernable smell, not bitter to taste.

In that case from your description it is likely to be Leccinum scabrum or one of its close allies.
