No guesses then ? Come on, what did you think it was when you first saw it ? Yeh, that's right - Orange Peel  So, it's called ... Aleuria aurantia (you're wrong)  
The Orange Peel Fungus is its common name, and is often used as decoration in salads, but is best left for others to enjoy too.
Yours is a very fine example.

| | | Re: ID Help - What is this bright Fungi please? Oh dear !! went back yesterday to the Fungi and it had gone. Wonder if an animal ate it? But anyway, its location was on Skipwith Common, Riccall, Near York, North Yorkshire.
Will try and find some more and let you know.
