Couple of Woodland fungi for identification please

Me again...Taken yesterday - broad-leaved woodland (Salcey forest) Northampton.
1. Think this is Collybia dryphila at it's convex stage. Near hazel, oak and hawthorn (all close together). White spore print. Cap. 4cm, stipe, 5cm long. Slight mushroom smell.


2. Any idea of this growing on fallen oak branch? Had to rush a quick couple of photos.

I'd agree with C.dryophila for the first and the second shot looks to be Stereum hirsutum, BUT IT AIN'T !
If you look at the centre of the 2nd of No 2 photograph, you will notice some reddish coloration - this is where it has been bruised and there is also a very faint vertical red scratch.

This is typical of Stereum gausapatum which is "almost exclusive" to Oaks.

Note: The bruising or scratching only turn red with fresh or wet Stereum, but you can cheat by just spitting on it and making it wet and after it is well damp, do a scratch test. Usually, just rubbing in the spit is sufficient to turn S.gausapatum red.

Again thanks Neil! I have seen Stereum hirsutum before on dead Alder and the colour was green/grey (I think this indicates an old specimen). Cheers for the Stereum gausapatum identification and tips.
