| | | id help please saw these yesterday and thought that it was just more stereum hirsutum ,
and did not take too much notice at the time, as i was more interested in some Marasmius androsaceus close by, and only got these 3 hand held shots of it,
it was only when viewed on the computer that i realised they were on conifer and could possibly be something else,
they were very small as can be judged from the size of the conifer needles,
any suggestions please,

| | | Re: id help please Hi
Has it got pores?
Does it bruise yellow/orange when damaged?
Last year I found a poroid fungus on pine logs that instantly bruised yellow-orange.
It turned out to be: Skeletocutis amorpha

| | | Re: id help please Stereum hirsutum is what i thought it was originally, but my limited books have this as being found on broad leaf trees, while this was on conifer(possibly spruce) wood,
but given the unpredictable nature of fungi, i suppose it is possible for it to be found on coniferous wood ?
due to my thinking it was just stereum hirsutum i did not take too much notice of it at the time, so no more details on it i'm afraid,
i have found skeletocutis in the past, but i dont think this one is skeletocutis, but then again, i'm far from being an expert at this,

| | | Re: id help please With these types of fungi the first thing you must do is to see if it has pores or not. Use a hand lens as some pores or very small
