Hi folks
You would think as some point it would start to get easier to identify these little b.......s.
I had a wander round some boggy woodland today and found lots of "interesting" stuff.
The first was a large (7cm cap)Psathyrella which turned out to be P spadiceogrisea. Ok I know it is supposed to be a spring species but with both cheilo and pleurocystidia it cannot be the other large one normally found at this time of year P candolleana.
Next a LARGE (it is already starting to sound like someone foraying at Clumber

) Volvariella.

What was left of the cap after the local wildlife had played with it gave me an overall size of 16cm with the stipe 3cm at its narrowest and more than 4cm at the base. The only thing I could come up with was V gloiocephala even though this is shown as maximum cap12cm and stipe 1.5
Next on soil

Is this a Humaria hemisphaerica?
Just along side it was this
Suggestions welcome.
Finally this little beauty
The asci tips are blued with Meltzers but a pointer in the right direction would be appreciated.
I did manage to identify some myself Calyptella capula Russula betularum under a stand of Oak (but there were some very small birch saplings) a Pluteus growing on pine with clamp connections which should have made it P pouzarianus but as I could only find them in the mycelium at the base and not in the cap I think it is just P cervinus.
I am now working on the two Scutellinia so will be back to look at all your suggestions later
