Hi
Could anybody offer any suggestions or advice as to what the following fungus may be. I have looked through the couple of the guides I have but have had no luck so far.
It was found yesterday in Bedgebury forest in Kent, growing through needles next to spruce, pine, silver birch and sweet chestnut trees.
The fungus was around a total of 8cm in height, the stipe around 7cm which appeared to be smooth with lines going down the length of the stipe.
It had a brown cap which was around 6cm in diameter.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks
Wayne
