| | | Another ID please Thanks to your kind treatment of my last query, I am encouraged to ask for another ID please.
On one of the photos of the Dead Man's Fingers posted yesterday, I spotted another fungus growing from the base and attach an enlarged view. Is this just coincidence or is the DMF the host to the white fungus?
....and of course can anyone ID it?
Thanks in advance. |

| | | Re: Another ID please Sorry, but I didn't even notice them at the time as I was so thrilled to find what I now know to be Dead Man's Fingers and it's the only photo with them in. |

| | | Re: Another ID please With the decurrent gills I would give a very tentative suggestion of Mycena spirea.

| | | Re: Another ID please I was thinking Hygocybe, even though the stems would be rather long - but what is causing that blackening, is it spores from the Xylaria or a chemical reaction upon bruising ?
