This is an Otidea, as like this one they usually have a split in one side, whereas Peziza are usually a complete cup shape.
According to Ellis & Ellis there are two species that are dark brown. O.bufonia (Toads Ear) and O. cochleata, they can be separated easily with a microscope. but not so easily macroscopically. O.bufonia is called 'Toads Ear' because the outer surface is sometimes warty like a toad’s skin, however, on the specimen I once found it required a hand lens to see and it was not over the whole surface only in a small area.
