What do you intend to do with them since these are obviously not photographed in situ?
It may help to read these links first! That time of year again Is my fungus edible or psychotic requests

| | | Re: wood blewitt Lepista Saeva, Field Blewitt. We are still waiting for them to appear up here and the heatwave won't help. Wood Blewitts have violet caps and gills, yours have the classic blue legs of the Pied Bleu. |

| | | Re: wood blewitt hey thanks for the replies I just saw them thought they looked interesting and before dad mowed them down wanted to take a few pics before discarding. Dont worry I have read the clearly highly regarded rule book and dont intend eating anyway. just wanted a bit more info. So thanks,
Does anyone no how they usually get there as i have had the garden for 15 years and never had them before. |

John had suspicions this was collected for consumption so was reluctant to ID the species (as indeed other responsible mycologists were) then along comes a newbie (you) with a suggestion and if wrong could have poisoned the person and WAB finds itself in trouble.
As it turns out, the poster had no intention of eating this (as you evidently would have done by the wording of your post !) so no harm came of it.
But you jumped the gun and broke the rules, so I'm reminding you WAB is NOT a site for Mycophagists and we should not be encouraging them to use WAB for that purpose.

| | | Re: wood blewitt What in my post suggests I have any intention of consuming any fungi? I simply made my suggestion as to identification and mentioned that we haven't seen any Lepista Saeva up our way yet. I am starting to feel like Jack Rodwell must have yesterday. |

Fungi John wrote his post and included those sticky's because it was feared Shroomfinder intended to consume the fungi and wanted an ID first.
Before Shroomfinder could confirm it wasn't for the pot, you jumped straight in and said what it was.
It is entirely possible that one time somebody will have picked a poisonous species, post a photo of it taken at home, on the kitchen table as though ready for the pot and asks for an ID before lighting the match.
Now assume a novice, keen to show off his 'skills', wrongly identifies the fungus as something edible and before the moderators spot this fatal mistake poor Shroomfinder or someone else quickly cooks and eats it and is promptly rushed off to hospital.
You got the ID right this time, so no harm done, and Shroomfinder was not going to eat it anyway, but next time you may not be so lucky.
THE WAB RULES ARE THERE NOT JUST TO PROTECT THE CONSUMING POSTER, BUT ALSO TO PROTECT THE POSSIBLE IDENTIFIER MAKING A MISTAKE WHICH COULD HAVE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES FOR THE WAB SITE ADMIN'
