| | | Webcaps, Boletus and Agaric I was out today in a roadside coppice in the New Forest. The coppice has some large Scots Pine, Birch, Oak, Beech, Holly and some lovely old Grey Willow. It also has a lot of wet marshy areas.
My first question is:- Is this Cortinarius ulginosus?
It was close to a large Grey Willow in a wet area.
Close by there was a different coloured version of the above. The mature specimen is beneath. Does anyone have any ideas?
I then came across this very small - what looks like a boletus under Scots Pine. The largest cap was not more than 1cm the smallest 3mm. There were some small Bovine Boletus nearby but these were definately not the same.
The Bovine Boletus
Finally I found this group of white fungi - mushroomy smell - under Pine plenty of Beech and Oak nearby. Any ideas? |

What's this one? | Hi Dave
It looks like a young Cortinarius!

| | | Re: Webcaps, Boletus and Agaric Yep a young yellow Cortinarius I'd say.
I'd really like to find out what those small boelte were. I haven't seen them before. I suppose they could be just immature specimens of something. I'll pop back and see how they progress. |

You were correct Flaxton, they are young B Bovinus. I'm pretty certain on the Cortinarius ulginosus as well. I had a look at the white one again and because of the rust-brown spotting, smell and texture, I'm convinced it's Collybia maculata. Thanks Fungijohn. |

| | | Re: Webcaps, Boletus and Agaric I've revisited the white fungi after finding some Collybia maculata. I'm now sure that it's not maculata but Lyophyllum connatum. |
