Hi John
It is now called Geopora:
There are two possible species G.arenosa and G.arenicola.
Some books say G.arenosa is up to 1 cm and Garenicola is 2-4 cm
The specimens found are around 1 - 2 cm this causes a problem, although in B&K they say that G.arenosa can grow up to 2cm and that the two cannot be distinguished by fruit-body size, and they can only be separated by spores size
Spore Size
G.arenosa = 22 - 25 x 11 - 15 micons
G.arenicola = 24 - 28 x 12 - 16 microns
All the spores I have measured have been around 23 microns long so I am naming it G. arenosa but I have only measured around 15 spores. Perhaps is you could measure say 100 spores we could be more certain:
It all seems a bit academic and perhaps there should be only one species but who am I to argue with taxonomists
