Considering you tell us nothing at all about this fungus, not even what happens to flesh colour when cut, I believe Gobbiner did well to come up with his suggestions.
My previous post was a bit of an unfair trick post to catch you out for Chloropyllum brunneum is the correct name for Macrolepiota rhacodes var.hortensis also called M.rhacodes var.bohemica.
So in that sense Gobbiner is right, and you or your friend are wrong.
But then again, we must not stop there, have you also considered Chloropyllum abruptibulbus or C.oliveiri ?
Do get back to us when you have done more research.
