I've seen several such conjoined fruitbodies in the last few years. In fact only yesterday, I saw a large Hygrocybe psittacina with what looked to be a rather oval shaped cap. On close examination it had two separate stipes.
Unfortunately I didn't think to photograph it. (My excuse being that it was pouring down at the time  ).
This could be a good subject for a separate reference thread where anyone finding such oddities could post them.

But haven't seen any bolete with two stipes sharing the same cap . most interesting. cool photo waxcap

| | | Re: Siamese Boletus A few days ago, I found 2 Battarrea phalloides which had emerged side by side, and the 'caps' had joined together at the top.
I was hoping they may have emerged from the same underground 'sac' but careful scraping away of the soil revealed the sac to be too disintegrated to be certain.
Exceedingly rare I would say.
