Honey Fungi i think

Is this Honey fungi and is there a latin name for it please i cant find it in my book thank you...Ray

yes it is, in the broad sense (fungi is the plural name, so 'this fungus')

the scientific name for true honey fungus is Armillaria mellea, though that is possibly not the commonest Armillaria species in Britain; there are others - you need to check details of the type of veil, colour of veil and cap scales etc.
