| | | A few for ID/confirmation please. Hi.
I found these this week and would appreciate ID help.
First one I've not found before but I'm fairly sure is Oudemansiella mucida
On a beech with a serious case of Ganoderma infection.
Number two, on a dead beech (I think) looks a lot like Rhodotus palmatus, but does this occur on beech?
Thirdly, this was growing in acid grassland at the side of a track, I'm thinking Cystoderma amianthinum.
Regards

yes to top two - Rhodotus does occur on Fagus but not commonly; the bottom one is probably correct too but you do need to be able to rule out the very similar Cystoderma jasonis (best done microscopically)
cheers
Chris

Two (and a probable) out of three ain't bad for me.
(I don't know whether or not to admit that I was thinking Pholiota on buried wood for the third at first) |

(I don't know whether or not to admit that I was thinking Pholiota on buried wood for the third at first) | it's being able to change your mind when necessary that's the key - I recently collected a 'discomycete' that turned out to have gills when I got it home
btw the moss is Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus
