| | | 2 fungi for id please Hi,i found these in a grazed limestone meadow here in gloucestershire.
I can only guess the first may be a bolete as it has no gills but i have little experience of these and it does have a ring ,its cap was approx 60-70mm.
The second was small and black .Approx 10-15mm cap.
Despite searching i am none the wiser with these two.any help appreciated  .1

| | | Re: 2 fungi for id please The first is Suillus grevillei so there must have been larch trees close by. I think I can just make out dark edges to the gills of the second so it could be Enteloma serrulatum.

Mal | I agree with the Suillus, the Entoloma could well be E. serrulatum but the gill-edge coloration is scarcely marked and there are a few other candidates - Melanie knows more about Entoloma than I do, and may care to comment . . . . .

the trouble with Entoloma - a bit like the earth-tongues Geoglossum spp. - is that there may be two or more species involved; macroscopically they may look very similar - again, Melanie may have a view on this
