This is a friendly forum and I hope you can find good, friendly advice whenever you are on here.

What a nice welcome a new member gets on here. | I'll refresh your memory then. Here is what you posted twice including images:
I picked these fungi today, i think they may be feild mushrooms, as they start off white/creamish button like then grow larger with a brown or black underside
They were under my 40 year old conifer hedge just sitting in the soil and there are some popping up on my lawn next to them
The dried out one is a week or so old from the same location
Can i eat these ??
Many thanks !

I then pm'd you to explain the rules and why your posts were deleted, but cannot remember anything suggesting you were an idiot!

| | | Re: Thanks for the welcome .. ... Sounds like you posted something that has been removed by the moderators. That suggests you were talking about edibility. This can be a difficult forum for a beginner (I remember making a fool of myself several times), but if you are interested in the subject it is first class.
Please read the "Sticky" threads. These will explain what is going on.
Welcome to WAB. Most people are friendly!
To the moderators: Maybe we need a way to filter new members through a screen that makes them read the basics before they post? Difficult to enforce I suppose, but it might avoid people taking offence. |

You could, having been pointed to the stickies, have read them, and then re-posted accordingly - which would undoubtedly have received the usual friendly responses and attempts at ID'ing your finds.
Oh, by the way, welcome to WAB.
Regards,
Mike. EDIT - Interrupted mid response - hence apparent late reply.

I have no idea how much experience you have with forums, but when I first joined WAB I had no idea what a sticky was, so it would have been very easy and understandable for me to make a mistake.
But you have had the mistake pointed out to you and have been guided to the relevant sticky yet you now make false claims and are really making yourself look silly.
I'd like to welcome you to WAB, but feel I can only do so when you make amends and apologise to Fungi John for he is only doing his job, but one which is vital to the smooth running (and legal running) of the WAB forums.
