| | | id for a completely yellow one please Hi Sorry no gill shots but very distinctive. Fungi is so rare at the moment here in the midlands due to the long spell of very dry weather that i just could not let myself cut this one up.
found 31/08/2011 growing on dead silver birch branch. aprox 2 iches high cap about 1 inch across. totally yellow even inside.

| | | Re: id for a completely yellow one please This is interesting and needs to be checked again tomorrow when hopefully you will be able to get a shot of the gills.
Lets hope no-one has disturbed it. If you go back, double check it is Birch, but a close up of that peeling bark does seem to prove you right.

| | | Re: id for a completely yellow one please Hi. Managed to get back today. I am pretty sure it is birch but may be ROWAN. there is some close by. The bark is pretty tatty so I cannot be certain. However here is the gill shot. No distinctive smell and it was going over but the stipe was hollow and a dark orange inside.
