Found in a wood near me. I didn't want to hang around for long as there was a wasp nest about 3 feet away, at the base of a tree. I'd welcome an id on it if possible.
Also this one I saw during the winter.

the first one is Meripilus giganteus (Giant Polypore), and the second one is a bit to imature for me to give it a name

Interestingly, all my 'good' photos come from the same location, a tiny country park near me that's only open at weekends during the summer. I suspect had this been anywhere else it would have been kicked to pieces long before I got to see it. |
