| | | Mushroom ID: Agaric on lawn Hi all,
I noticed this interesting looking mushroom growing by itself in the middle of my back lawn and wondered what it was? I've noticed a couple of them over time, always singly. It's about 3" tall, firm (it was reasonably dry when picked), free white close gills. Rim slightly rolled in (though not as much as a brown roll rim)
TIA. |

I'm none too sure even about the genus for this one. I feel it could either be a Melanoleuca, or possibly an Entoloma species.
If those gills have a pinkish cast to them, then it will be an Entoloma, but it is slightly on the dry side to have a confident stab at to species level.

I am dying to find out the colour of the gills. They do look to be pink indicating a possible Entoloma, but as it was taken indoors the 'pink' could be due to shade.
So can you remember what colour the gills were ?

Neil. | I'm afrid not, I took the photo a couple of weeks ago and the shroom went in the bin afterwards. I only thought to see if anyone knew what it was this morning. I do remember they weren't completely white, but I can't remember if they were pinkish or greyish.
I think I'm failing quite hard today |
