out and about in Thetford forest today, came across this offering.
Bolete/Leccinum/Suillus of some kind ?
Would appreciate your thoughts

they are two specimens, but both seemingly from the same troup aproximately 30cms apart.

| | | Re: Id help required on coniferous Bolete species I would agree with Neil Suillus granulatus - you can see the milk commonly seen on fresh specimens. I think the first two are just older and eaten fruitbodies of the same species.

there was evidence of bleed, but not profuse like Lactarius.

I visit Thetford Forest 4 or 5 times each year, but have no idea what you mean by GHP or Heath Andy. Tell me do.
Dave, B.granulatus do not 'bleed' the way Lactarius species do, it is more of a 'sweat' in the form of already present small weak milky droplets on the pores close to the stem of fresh specimens.

Two sites that we both work at/near & record from.
Though Andy knows the mycology of these sites better than I.
