Basidiomycota checklist

Anyone else having great difficulty connecting to the Kew Basidiomycota checklist? I've found it has been bad for the last few months, very frustrating ...

I tend to use the link to Fungal Records Database of the British Isles rather than the Checklist itself (which does seem to be having trouble)

Thanks Mal. I use both. I find the checklist can be useful for the info it has on the fungus, including what it is associated with, its occurence, especially when it says things like widespread but rarely recorded, probably overlooked.

But glad it isn't just my computer not liking it. I'd tried it with two different web browsers and the problem was the same with both.

It certainly isn't just your computer. I'm also finding that accessing the checklist is impossible for a lot of the time, just occasionally it works fine and then it quickly goes off again. Very frustrating!

I've just emailed Kew to let them know. Hopefully we'll see an improvement soon.

I had the impression that the Basidio checklist, is hosted by CABI, as are Index Fungorum and FRDbBI: difficult to check though as it's not working for me either.

The copyright detail at the bottom of the webpage on one of the rare occasions that it did upload, said Kew, and it was through that link that I found the email address. Not yet had a reply, though.

Just checking the Kew site, found this page Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew: Science and Horticulture: Reseach projects
which appears to be really out of date ... price of the book version of the Checklist is given as £29, whereas on their publications page it is listed at £38.50 ....

How well does the Fungal Records database keep up with the check list? as this is ussually available and also has the Ascomycetyes.

I have just been looking through the 2011 (May) Checklist Update: and it looks like we will have to say goodbye to a lot more familiar names especially in Collybia, Lepiota, Marasmius, Panellus, Calocybe and Inonotus
