Haven't heard of that name. But this looks like Postia caesia - Conifer Bluing Bracket.

thanks guys. I've also just found references to it as Postia caesia, tyromyces caesia. and Blauender Saftporling. in Phillips
It was on conifer stump.
The "spongiporus" bit came from Collins Mushrooms & Toadstools of Brit. & Europe. (Garnweidner) 1994 - page 178 - #310
