Hi all,
is this peziza badia, young?
Or maybe michelii, if its still called that? 
Single, disturbed soil under cleared mixed pine + deciduous.
Smooth and winey inside, granular outside.
Grateful for any steer/help.

with perhaps a couple of exceptions (and this isn't one) you cannot do these without a microscope; Brian Spooner's key starts by asking whether the spores are smooth or ornamented!; general appearance and colour are too variable in any case
I'm shortly going to post about Peziza and it may go some way to underlining that (unfortunate) state of affairs
