| | | Unknown again Hi all
Please can someone place a name on this species. Despite its striking features, I have been unable to identify it accurately (newbie) The book by Phillips is on the way
The fruits were discovered early morning on a wood chip pile on the farm. By midday the fruits had almost withered away.
Many thanks all

I would certainly not like to put a name to the ink-cap based on just this photo - there are many more species than people realise (and new ones are still being added to the British list as well)
I can only assume (hope) that the mention of Clitocybe rivulosa was a slip - that is a very different, white-gilled and -spored fungus
cheers
Chris
