Hi lawyerswig and welcome to WAB

The edibility issue has been debated at great length in the past and we have also taken legal advice on the subject.

After many instances where mainly new members posted images (and in most cases poor images) asking if they could eat their finds, it was decided to ban all edibility issues.

This was especially alarming when we had other 'newbies' or less experienced members giving out wrong and sometimes very dangerous information. In at least three cases the member had already eaten a fungus which was highly poisonous.

Hence:

Is my fungus edible or psychotic requests

With respect to location of 'edibles' ... Not the best of ideas if you consider the potential damage this could cause in terms of damage to habitat and over picking. This is a real threat to many fungi!

I should point out to others reading this, that it is not intended to be part of any 'repeated' debate on this issue

Can I also add that we are not a culinary site and any further images of fungi on plates, frying pans etc will be removed!
