Was just wondering if this is the sickener (Russula emetica). I saw it just outside a coniferous plantation near Ingleby Greenhow...

I'd expect the Sickener to be more of a richer red colour, and with a pure white stipe.

Ken | Yes - now that I've looked at the photo at largest size, evidence of the ring can be seen in the upper fruitbody, and they both have that very typical look of young S.grevillei).
