bracket on oak

I found the following brackets on an oak tree with a recent largew branch failure. I have my suspicions as to species but would like to hear the experts opinions.

Hello Besnard,

This looks to me like an old specimen of Laetiporus sulphureus from April/May just gone.

That's what I would say it was, too.

I thought that too but the fronds weren't as pronounced as I'm used to seeing.

I saw a few like that this year, as if they were unable to mature I guess it was something to do with the climatic conditions during April & May.
