Hello again wild about Britain peeps! I'm happy to say that i've heard back from Kew. At first glance, Pseudoboletus parasiticus was thought to be the culprit but apparently, Microscopically, the specimen i sent agrees with Boletus subtomentosus. Theres still uncertainty (the specimens i sent were a few days old and dry for one) so i visited the site again this morning. They're still going strong in the same places - bigger and with cracked caps in the case of one spot it would seem. I put fresh specimens and subtrate in the post to Kew this morning and will pass on feedback on this when i get it.
Heres a few pics from today.....
Best wishes to all!
