| | | More help needed I nearly walked straight passed these yesterday but just managed to spot the caps poking out from amongst the leaf litter. These were around 8cm in height but almost completely hidden from view. I thought they would be easy to ID once I returned home, having a distinct cap color and obvious mycelial growth at the bottom of their stems. Not the case! I've searched and searched but can't put a name to these lovely looking fungi. Any ideas? |

| | | Re: More help needed After hours of searching online I have come up with Hebeloma crustuliniforme as a possible match for this fungus. Can anyone confirm this?

| | | Re: More help needed Well, the cap color and dark center, lack of ring on stem and the habitat I found them in all seem to match descriptions I have read and pictures I have seen. The gills seem a little light but I'm thinking these are young specimens and they might darken with age?
Am I well off the mark Neil?? |

It's still early days yet though, so give it a few more days if your going to pass that way again.
