| | | Re: Unknown Fungi Hi there.
Pics. 1 & 2 are Birch Ploypore - Piptoporus betulinus.
Pics. 3 & 4 are of a Bolete (pores not gills ) pretty sure it's a Leccinum, possibly Leccinum holopus, but there are a couple of other possibilities.
Pics. 5 & 6 are Dryad's Saddle - Polyporus squamosus. EDIT - Having looked more closely at 5 & 6, they appear to be oldish specimens, and the fruitbodies appear to have gills, so they can't be P.squamosus. It's probable that they are Shaggy Scalycap - Pholiota squarrosa.
Regards,
Mike.

Very good for a Red Rose Man.
I have decided to put a White Rose on my Profile after seeing your Red one.
Cheers once again.

| | | Re: Unknown Fungi I am not much of an expert but big overlapping scales make me want to check for white gills (Neolentinus), teeth (Sarcodon) or pores (Polyporus) and since this has dark brown gills I am tempted to think maybe it is not so big and these are Agaricus sp.
Does that seem likely? |

| | | Re: Unknown Fungi I would say the second is a Suillus. With the large pores and no ring I would say probalby S bovinus.
Agaricus for the last but without the information on wether it bruised red and what the ring was like it will stay just that for me?

| | | Re: Unknown Fungi What about Agaricus bohusii for 5 and 6?
Pretty uncommon I know, but I have seen this several times and in different locations here in MK and these seem to be very similar.
Were the photos taken recently (IE this year?) if so, that would make it very early, in my experience anyway.

Pictures N03 & No4 were taken 9 Oct 2010 in my back garden in the lawn.
hight 10cm diameter about 7cm
Pictures No5 & No6 were taken 7 Oct 2010 in my back garden in the lawn.
The plates were about 20cm diameter. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
