| | | A nice find, but what are they? I found these today growing in soil/wood debris along the edge of a woodland path. As you can see from the pictures, when young they have a smooth yellowish cap which begins to split or crack as the fungus matures. I found this to be the case in every one I spotted, which was around four or five specimens.
Any help Identifying these would be welcome. |

Looks like an Agrocybe to me. I don't have much experience with this genus, but I think A.praecox appears early, and the habitat fits OK as does the cracking cap.....

The colour of the gills and the faint ring on the stem are the clues here, so I would back up Nicks suggestion.
