| | | Panellus stypticus POSSIBLY Hi. found this yesterday. Can anyone id it for me please.
Growing on a falen silver birch trunk. possibly a little dehydrated. Growing like a bracket. No distinctive smell. cap approx 8 inches long by 4 inches wide.
Closest I can get at this time of year is bitter oysterling but, given my track record probably totally wrong!!
top of cap
very short stipe with black base
gills very wide spaced and a distinctive vivid sulphur yellow colour.
Regards tn.

Regards tn. | I suspect that this is a dried and ageing fungus, possibly Pleurotus or Sarcomyxa serotina. The yellow looking gills look only to be this colour from the gill edge, beyond which they look to be cream, which suggests they are ageing. |
