I have found this growing in my lawn for the last couple of weeks. Any ideas? It's about 5 cm high and 4 wide and, obviously, a spring fungus. |

Your fungi looks like a pretty good match for an example of False Morel, Gyromitra esculenta in latin follow this link to the explaination in the WAB. A-Z False Morel | Wild About Britain. I understand they can keep growing for some weeks. I wish i had a specimen growing on my lawn to study.
