I have pictures of what I thought was an Oak Bolete ( Boletus appendiculatus) on my web site. I also uploaded one to the Gallery. Now someone has contacted me to say it is not an Oak Bolete.
Can anyone here confirm what it is? They were actually growing out of an oak tree. There are more photos here ( Oak Bolete - Boletus appendiculatus) if it helps.

Oak Bolete is supposed to be rare.
How about Bay Bolete - Boletus badius.

Looks like Bay Bolete. Did you cut it or bruise the pores & check the colour? |
