crater crust?

From today, this small patch near old Beech log, but may be on willow/birch branch, there were many scattered about - I am lost with it, any ideas?
Peniophora, tarcrust, Hypoxylon ????????????
Many craters where pores were?
May be old and worn of course, may not be fungal............

bit left field here . . . . I wondering if it can be the remains of the slime mould Dictydiaethalium

here it is before the spores have been shed - it does have that roughly hexagonal, honeycomb appearance at this stage:

that silver margin would fit as well; if you were to get globose minutely spiny spores that would be highly suggestive

Peniophora doesn't have a poroid hymenophore

Chris, not left field, just good educated guesswork, using logic from what we have to draw a reasoned conclusion - it surely is the remains of something like that and yours is as good as I'm going to get I suspect.
End of the line for this one though in concrete terms unless anyone else has a view.
