I will remember, and will be making sure that we take reasonable precautions in future. And I'll remember not to over-react again. Thanks for all the explanation and discussion. I am aware of the rules on not discussing edibility and appreciate the leniency this time I hadn't intended to bring it up.

I have always loved wildlife of all sorts, but it has been more of the 'oooh that's interesting/pretty/wierd' level and left it at that. Since getting the allotment, I've been paying a bit more attention and trying to learn more about all of the wildlife I come into contact with. It's fascinating, but there's SO much to learn! This was the first fungi I've come across on the allotment and was totally unexpected. Please excuse my newbie-ness (if that makes sense).
