Mind you, the top surface doesnt look right either..................dont answer that.

I know the fungus is still there I can gather more images of it, if it helps, today or tomorrow! By the way is my latest pics turkeytail? I have to get one ID right!

It's fine to place the odd link such as the one you suggest. There's only a problem when links are repeatedly used, as in advertising etc

Revisited the alder fungus, here are more pics.

Growing beside it (colour has changes over time)

The possible "turkeytail" lack pores? Similar to the photos in link #9?

These were growing close the area, are they Hygrocybe pratensis?

Having kept my head down since my first post I finally have to concede that I was wrong and it is Daedaleopsis confragosa

Hello,

the species no. 2 is an older Inonotus radiatus.
The 3rd one, the possible tureytail, is a Stereum, and to me it seems more likely to be Stereums ubtomentosum then Stereum hirsutum, but am not sure.
The last one is Tubaria hiemalis/furfuracea complex.
